Venezuela’s baseball stadium turns into makeshift shelter

The twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela last Wednesday left thousands homeless. In the northern coastal town of Catia la Mar, residents fled to a local baseball stadium, now serving as an emergency shelter where survivors are sleeping outdoors or in tents.

BBC correspondent Will Grant visited the site and spoke to people who have had no place to stay since the tremors. “We are waiting for the government to find temporary accommodation while we rebuild,” said one woman.
