Ukrainian Drone Strikes Target Russia’s Second‑Largest Online Retailer Ozon

Late Sunday night, Ukrainian drones set fire to an Ozon logistics centre in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, and struck additional warehouses in Krasnodar, Adygea and Stavropol.

The company reported flames and several injuries, and it said earlier that a major fire had erupted at a facility in Krasnodar. Russian officials added that three children were killed in the attack and that six more were taken to hospital.

Ozon is the country’s second‑largest e‑commerce platform, after Wildberries. The firm has been a target for weeks, as Ukraine accuses it of storing dual‑use goods that the Russian military can tap for war supplies.

Following the strikes, the Moscow Exchange saw Ozon’s shares drop by up to 12%, while shares in its major shareholder, private equity firm AFK Sistema, slid almost 13%.

The Kremlin said it was working with business representatives to provide support to Ozon in the “difficult situation.” Both sides deny targeting civilians directly.

The attacks bring the war to ordinary Russians, as many rely on Ozon and Wildberries for everyday goods. Experts say that by disrupting these logistics hubs, Ukraine hopes to weaken Russia’s economic base.
