Ukrainian authorities have categorized a recent explosion in Bucha as a terrorist attack, which left two police officers injured. The incident unfolded early on a residential street, beginning with an explosion that prompted police response, followed by a second blast that targeted the first responders.

The police apprehended a 21-year-old local resident who allegedly stated he was recruited via the online game World of Tanks to commit the attacks. Authorities reported that he had been promised a significant sum of money for each explosion.

Andriy Kravchuk, head of the Kyiv Region Criminal Investigations Directorate, noted that the suspect claimed he was financially motivated, asserting he had been threatened and blackmailed regarding the safety of his family to coerce him into carrying out the bombings.

The SBU, Ukraine's security service, labeled the suspect as a "Russian agent," although connections to Russia are still being investigated. Kravchuk confirmed the injured officers had non-life-threatening injuries, while local residents recounted the harrowing details of the blasts, describing the loud sound and subsequent shockwave that shook their homes.

This incident adds to a worrying trend of similar attacks across Ukraine, previously claiming the life of a police officer and injuring numerous others. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, with the community reeling from the aftermath of this violent act.
