UK Rapper Yung Filly Acquitted of Rape After Perth Show
The 30‑year‑old YouTuber, Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was found not guilty of rape by a Perth jury after a confrontation with a 20‑year‑old fan in a hotel room following his 2024 performance in Hillarys, a suburb of Perth. The jury also acquitted him on a count of assault occasioning bodily harm and on strangulation. However, three other rape counts remain hung, leaving the judge to decide whether the prosecutors will pursue those charges.
The rapper was also found guilty of two assault charges, a finding that highlighted the complexity of the case. Barrientos remains on bail until the court sets a sentencing date on 21 August. The prosecution will decide whether to press ahead with the remaining charges that the jury could not reach a verdict on.
Yung Filly’s career has spanned YouTube, reality television and the music industry. He appeared in the celebrity version of Bake Off on Channel 4 and has hosted BBC Three shows.
