Forty-five Indian pilgrims have been killed after the bus they were travelling in caught fire in an accident near Medina in Saudi Arabia, according to the police commissioner of India's Hyderabad city. The bus, which had 46 passengers, was involved in the accident while en route from Mecca to Medina for the Umrah pilgrimage. One man survived and is currently in intensive care.

Most of the victims hailed from Hyderabad in Telangana state. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his deep sadness over the tragedy, stating that Indian authorities are in close contact with their Saudi counterparts to provide all necessary assistance. Control rooms have been established in Jeddah and Hyderabad to support the families of the victims.

Asaduddin Owaisi, a parliament representative from Hyderabad, is requesting federal assistance to repatriate the bodies to India. The Indian contingent had traveled from Hyderabad to Jeddah on November 9. As family members of the deceased shared their sorrow, the community in Hyderabad mourns this tragic loss.
