In brief

Russian missile strikes on a Kyiv‑side drone exhibition killed 10 civilians and wounded 100. The assault, part of a broader series of attacks, also targeted Sloviansk, Kirov and Russian retailer Wildberries, while Romania shot down a hostile drone. Ukraine is investigating the safety of the event, and officials have confirmed no involvement for some prominent figures.

Ten civilians died when Russian ballistic missiles struck an exhibition near Kyiv that showcased civilian‑use drones developed by Ukraine and used for defence. The attack, which killed roughly 100 injured, was described by President Volodymyr Zelensky as the latest blow in a series of strikes targeting Russian infrastructure.

The event, held at a Kyiv‑side field, featured a range of drone models and was attended by defence officials and security service representatives, many of whom hailed as "direct planners of strikes on Russian territory". Three missiles were launched; only one was intercepted by Ukrainian air defences.

That day also saw separate attacks: Russian glide‑bomb strikes hit the eastern city of Sloviansk, killing five; Ukrainian forces struck a factory in Kirov and warehouses of Russian online retailer Wildberries, which damaged a major logistics hub that supplies the Russian army.

In the same week, Romanian air‑force fighter jets shot down a hostile drone that entered national airspace, while Ukrainian social‑media posts and defence‑ministry advisers confirmed they had survived the Kyiv attack.

The Ukrainian government is investigating the decision to hold the exhibition and reviewing safety arrangements, with official trials underway to hold the responsible parties accountable.
