DICKSON CITY, PA - Emergency crews battled a blaze Wednesday night at Lehigh Valley Hospital, necessitating the evacuation of all patients, staff, and visitors. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as all individuals were safely evacuated, according to a hospital spokesperson. Emergency responders continued their efforts at the scene into early Thursday morning. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro took to X to acknowledge the rapid response of state police, emergency management, and health department personnel, expressing gratitude for their bravery. He stated, 'Thank you to every first responder running toward danger to help their fellow Pennsylvanians.' U.S. Representative Rob Bresnahan Jr. echoed these sentiments, sharing his appreciation for the first responders on the same platform. Images and videos from the scene displayed flames shooting from what appeared to be the hospital's Orthopedic Institute. The cause of the fire remains unclear as investigations are ongoing, with the hospital located approximately six miles north of Scranton.
