Rapper Gucci Mane was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint in Dallas earlier this year, leading to the arrests of eight men, including fellow artist Pooh Shiesty, according to prosecutors. The incident, which unfolded during a supposed meeting, involved Pooh Shiesty, born Lontrell Williams Jr., who is accused of orchestrating the ambush. Prosecutors claim he held Mane captive in a recording studio, coercing him into signing documents to release him from his contract under threat of violence.

Mane, known for his popular collaborations with artists such as Usher, Doja Cat, and Drake, has been the head of 1017 Records since 2007, with Williams Jr. signed to the label in 2020. If convicted, the defendants face potential life imprisonment.

Federal complaints indicate that the alleged crime took place on January 10, when the artist supposedly under house arrest for a prior firearms conviction was joined by eight co-defendants, including his father. Reports detail that Williams Jr. reportedly forced Mane to sign documents at gunpoint while stealing valuable items, including his wedding ring, watch, and cash. Other victims in the studio were also threatened, with one allegedly assaulted and robbed.

The situation escalated quickly; within hours of the robbery, some suspects were seen flaunting the stolen jewellery on social media, as detailed by U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould. He stated that the victims believed they might be executed before being forcibly expelled from the studio.

Law enforcement has since arrested eight of the nine suspects, while one remains at large, and is coordinating with Georgia authorities to apprehend him. The community is awaiting further developments as the case continues.
