CCTV footage shows a sudden explosion that tore through a sneaker shop in the San Antonio neighbourhood of Surabaya, Indonesia. The blast is believed to have been triggered by a gas leak, authorities say, and five patrons were hospitalized with injuries. Police confirmed no suspicious substances or explosives were found at the scene. The powerful explosion also damaged at least 41 surrounding buildings, setting fire to several and sending a large plume of smoke into the sky. Residents and witnesses described the sound as a “thunderclap” and the building shuddering before the collapse. The incident is still under investigation, with emergency crews working to clear the wreckage and assess the cause of the leak.
