A woman who said she was drugged and raped by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has spoken publicly for the first time to BBC Newsnight about her ordeal.
The woman, who spoke on condition of anonymity and whom the BBC will refer to as Nicky, said she met the disgraced financier when she was 19, working as a model. She detailed her traumatic experience involving a massage at Epstein's mansion, during which he offered her a drink that led to her blacking out for hours.
Encouraged by other survivors, Nicky is calling for the US Department of Justice to release all files related to Epstein's case, emphasizing the need for survivors' identities to be protected in future disclosures.
I have no recollection of anything for a minimum of 12 hours after that, she said, indicating belief that Epstein drugged her before the assault. Nicky's desire for justice is intertwined with a plea for a shift in the narrative surrounding Epstein, criticizing the naming of laws after him and advocating for the survivors' experiences to be honored.
