Key moments included early missed chances, injuries to Bayern stars Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry, and a stalemated first half. Both sides remain unbeaten, sitting on 18 points from eight matches, with Bayern topping the table on goal difference.
In Saturday’s Bundesliga Klassiker in Berlin, Fabio Silva’s 89th‑minute strike forced a 2‑2 draw for Borussia Dortmund against Bayern Munich, denying the German champions an outright win.
Bayern’s first hope came early when Michael Olise hit the post after ten minutes, but the visitors regrouped and Jobe Bellingham’s effort was denied by goalkeeper Jonas Urbig.
Later in the first half, Bayern suffered injuries to Ismael Saibari and Serge Gnabry, weakening their attack for the remainder of the match.
Dortmund briefly thought they had taken the lead when Bellingham capitalised on a mis‑pass by Dayot Upamecano; the goal, however, was ruled offside after a VAR review.
Bayern regained the advantage in the 34th minute: Konrad Laimer, after a precise pass from Felix Nmecha, combined with Olise and scored on the second attempt, sending the home crowd into turmoil.
In the second half, Bayern’s Joshua Kimmich set up Kane, whose headed pass enabled Upamecano to finish from close range, restoring the win for the hosts.
Dortmund captain Jens Schlotterbeck said:
We played a decent game. We were good in the first half, and in the second half we rewarded ourselves and pressed well. Bayern had chances with the penalty and hit the woodwork three times, but overall, it was a good performance from us.
After the draw, both sides remain unbeaten on 18 points from eight matches, with Bayern sitting atop the table on goal difference.
Elsewhere in the league, Freiburg beat Augsburg 2‑1 to move into third place, Leipzig topped fourth with a 2‑0 win at Schalke, Werder Bremen climbed to fifth after a 2‑0 victory over Hoffenheim, and Stuttgart won 4‑2 at Leverkusen. Bottom‑placed Borussia Mönchengladbach drew 0‑0 with Paderborn.
