In brief
At the sixth edition of the Hajj Conference and Exhibition, the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) will introduce three new projects to improve linguistic support for pilgrims. The initiatives—a language assessment test, a specialized textbook, and an expanded terminology dictionary—are developed in partnership with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and cover over 3,400 entries in multiple languages.
The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language (KSGAAL) announced that it will launch three new language projects at the upcoming Hajj Conference and Exhibition, which will open on November 8 in Jeddah.
Those projects include a pilgrimage‑specific Hajj and Umrah language assessment test, the Arabic for Hajj and Umrah textbook, and an updated edition of the Hajj and Umrah terminology dictionary, all part of the academy’s Arabic for Specific Purposes series.
The terminology dictionary, created in partnership with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, contains 488 Arabic entries with translations into English, French, Persian, Turkish, Malay, and Urdu, totaling more than 3,400 entries across all languages.
The aim of the projects is to enhance communication for pilgrims and those providing services at Hajj and Umrah, according to a statement from the Saudi Press Agency.
