The White House has denied that an alleged letter from Donald Trump to Jeffrey Epstein is authentic, stating the president did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it.

US lawmakers released the letter, which features a drawing of a woman's body, as part of a birthday book given to Epstein in 2003.

The book was part of a trove of documents released by a US House committee, which includes Epstein's will and a personal address book featuring names from royalty to celebrities and politicians.

The birthday book also contains a message from Lord Peter Mandelson, the UK Ambassador to the US, who described Epstein as my best pal.

The House Oversight Committee recently issued a legal summons for documents related to Epstein, including the birthday book, as pressure mounts for more transparency from both lawmakers and the public regarding Epstein's connections with high-profile figures.

Trump has stated in the past that he would be open to releasing more information about Epstein, but later claimed that the case was closed, increasing scrutiny from both victims and investigators alike.

The book, which was created for Epstein's 50th birthday by Ghislaine Maxwell, includes submissions from various influential figures. Alongside the alleged note from Trump, there is also a note purportedly from former President Bill Clinton, mentioning Epstein's childlike curiosity.

A spokesperson for Clinton has said that while he knew Epstein at the time, he had no knowledge of his criminal activities.

The matter escalated after a Democratic lawmaker claimed Trump's birthday note was real, stating it shows the former president is attempting to lie and cover up the truth about his connections to Epstein.

The White House reiterated that the legal team will continue to pursue litigation against media entities reporting on this issue.

Trump's dealings with Epstein are under renewed scrutiny, following revelations about the former financier's activities and connections to numerous high-profile individuals, including a controversial non-prosecution agreement from 2007 disclosed alongside the birthday book.
