In brief
A Minnesota pastor was dramatically rescued by South African police on Tuesday following a dangerous operation that led to the death of three kidnappers. Josh Sullivan was abducted last week while preaching at the Fellowship Baptist church in Motherwell by masked assailants and taken to a secluded safe house in Gqeberha, where he remained confined.
Upon receiving crucial intelligence about Sullivan’s whereabouts, law enforcement officials pinpointed the location of his captivity. The police, led by Lieutenant Colonel Avele Fumba, approached the residence only to trigger a violent response from the suspects, who began shooting at law enforcement officers. A fierce gun battle ensued, resulting in the deaths of three of the assailants. Authorities were able to locate Sullivan inside a vehicle parked outside the premises, where he was found uninjured. After the frightening ordeal, he has since been reunited with his family and reported to be in excellent health.
