Yung Filly tells a Perth court that the vibes were good with the woman he is accused of raping.
The rapper, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, stood at the witness box in the District Court of Western Australia on Monday, a week after the start of his trial. He said that he had ‘fancied’ the 20‑year‑old woman when they met at the concert venue and that they had a good vibe when they later went together to his hotel room.
Barrientos denied touching her in any inappropriate way. “I recall putting my hand on her waist,” he told the judge, but insisted that he never put his hands under her clothing or touched her breast.
The court heard that the pair had previously engaged in consensual sex before the alleged assault. According to Barrientos, the victim told him to stop and his security guard removed her phone as a standard practice to protect her privacy.
He has pleaded not guilty to six counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm and one count of strangulation.
The singer, also known for his work with the YouTube collective Beta Squad and appearances on the celebrity version of Bake Off on Channel 4, has been on bail since he was charged and was allowed to fly back to the UK for a four‑month period in September, before returning to Western Australia to await his hearing.
