A 25‑year‑old UK‑Iranian dual national was arrested last Thursday on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts connected to RAF Fairford.
The man was taken into custody in Westminster and searches of two nearby properties were concluded. A major incident was declared after police received reports of three suspicious vehicles near the Gloucestershire airbase, and several houses were evacuated.
Five other men, all UK nationals from London, were also arrested but have since been released on police bail. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
