In a Las Vegas courtroom, former Crips gang boss Duane 'Keffe D' Davis was found guilty of orchestrating the 1996 drive‑by shooting that killed rapper Tupac Shakur.
The jury decided based on a 2008 police interview in which Davis admitted he was in the white Cadillac that fired the fatal shots, although he said he did not pull the trigger.
Prosecutors argued that Davis ordered the hit, supplied the gun to his nephew Orlando Anderson, and pulled the trigger by calling the shots from the car.
Shakur’s family and devoted fans erupted in tears and cheering outside the courthouse as the verdict was read, marking the first conviction in a case that had haunted hip‑hop fans for nearly three decades.
A judge set a sentencing date for Oct. 13, after which Davis told the court he would appeal the decision.
