US President Donald Trump has unveiled renovations to the bathroom in the Lincoln Bedroom, as his remodeling of the White House continues.

Trump shared photos of the new bathroom on social media, stating it had been renovated in the 1940s in an art deco green tile style, which was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era.

He claimed the new black and white marble is very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln and, in fact, could be the marble that was originally there!. This latest change follows Trump’s October demolition of the East Wing to pave the way for a new multi-million dollar ballroom.

The bathroom is part of Abraham Lincoln's office, renovated in the late 1940s by former President Harry Truman. Previously featuring green and gold wallpaper, it now boasts gold fixtures and accents, including a chandelier.

The White House confirmed that the renovation was privately funded, sparking backlash from conservation groups and political adversaries. Critics argue that Trump's modifications stray too far from the classical style of the White House, calling for public reviews before such changes.

Trump maintains that his changes, including recently paving the Rose Garden and gilding elements of the Oval Office, are visionary and necessary. Nonetheless, his focus on renovations has prompted criticism from Democrats, with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer suggesting Trump prioritizes renovations over resolving the ongoing government shutdown.

Former President Barack Obama has also weighed in, humorously noting that while citizens struggle with healthcare access, Trump is busy with his lavish remodels.
