Ghanaian footballer Dominic Frimpong has died after suspected armed robbers opened fire at the bus carrying his team, Berekum Chelsea, following a match. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) expressed its profound shock and deep sorrow while extending heartfelt condolences to Frimpong's family and teammates.

The incident occurred as the team was returning from an away game against Samartex in Samreboi, when masked men armed with guns and assault rifles ambushed their bus. The attackers blocked the road, leading to a chaotic scene where players and staff fled into nearby bushes for safety. The GFA has emphasized the need for justice and is coordinating with relevant authorities to investigate the attack further.

In light of this tragedy, the GFA plans to review and strengthen security arrangements for clubs during travels to ensure player safety in the future. Dominic Frimpong, who joined Berekum Chelsea on loan from Aduana FC earlier this year, had quickly become a rising star, scoring two goals in 13 appearances.
