A lawsuit alleging rape involving Sean "Diddy" Combs and Jay-Z has been officially dismissed. The case, concerning an accusation made by an unnamed plaintiff, Jane Doe, regarding an incident in 2000, was withdrawn by her attorney, Tony Buzbee, on Friday in New York. This development comes as part of multiple lawsuits targeting Combs for alleged sexual misconduct. The dismissal was filed with prejudice, meaning Jane Doe is barred from attempting to refile the same allegations in the future.

Jay-Z, whose legal name is Shawn Carter, welcomed the news, describing it as a "victory." He criticized the allegations as "frivolous" and asserted that the suit lacked merit. In his statement, he reflected on the impact the claims had on his family and called for the protection of those wrongfully accused, emphasizing the need for truth in such serious matters.

In the legal arena, Jay-Z's attorney, Alex Spiro, reinforced his belief that the lawsuit was groundless and stated that Jay-Z has firmly rejected allegations against him throughout the legal process. The accuser previously acknowledged inconsistencies in her story, which played a critical role in the court's review.

While Jay-Z has moved past this particular legal threat, Sean Combs remains embroiled in a different set of challenges. His legal representation reiterated Combs' innocence, aiming to dismiss the other cases being brought against him as well. Currently, Combs is detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center for separate federal charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking, with no bail granted thus far. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.
