Police in Hanau, a city near Frankfurt, Germany, have reported a disturbing incident involving the defacement of about 50 vehicles. The cars, as well as various walls and postboxes, were smeared with a reddish liquid that is suspected to be human blood. This marking has raised alarm, particularly since swastikas were included in the vandalism, which is illegal in Germany due to laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Authorities were first notified late on Wednesday when a local resident reported that a car in the Lamboy district had been covered in this liquid, which was applied in the shape of a swastika. Following this, officers discovered numerous additional vehicles and properties affected by the same type of vandalism in the vicinity.

Initial police examinations of the liquid suggest it is human blood; however, the source remains unknown, and investigators have reported no injuries linked to the incident so far. Local officials are actively appealing to the public for any information that might help solve this unsettling mystery.

Bundestag Vice President Omid Nouripour expressed his outrage, stating, 'This act strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago,' referring to the tragic shooting incident that claimed nine lives in 2020, targeting individuals of immigrant background. The city is now grappling with this latest act of hate and is determined to resolve it swiftly.}
