Scott Mescudi, known professionally as Kid Cudi, took the stand in Sean "Diddy" Combs' trial, making shocking claims of intimidation and a Molotov cocktail attack that targeted his vehicle. Cudi, who testified for roughly two hours, discussed his past relationship with Cassie Ventura, Combs' ex-girlfriend, who had previously testified in the ongoing case. He suggested that Combs had also played a part in a break-in at his home; however, Combs' legal team stressed that no concrete evidence supported these allegations.
Cudi was among the witnesses providing testimony as the trial, now in its third week, approaches a Memorial Day weekend break. Combs is facing serious charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking, and he has pleaded not guilty, maintaining his innocence through various civil lawsuits aligned with the criminal accusations.
During his testimony, Cudi recounted a tense incident from December 2011 when he received a distressing call from Ventura. Upon learning that Combs had discovered their relationship, Cudi took Ventura to a hotel for safety. Shortly after, a mutual acquaintance informed him that Combs, along with another individual, were inside his Los Angeles residence.
Cudi stated he drove home while calling Combs, who allegedly responded with a menacing, "I'm over here waiting for you." Upon arriving at the property, Cudi found disarray, including his dog locked in the bathroom acting unusually anxious and Christmas gifts opened. Following this unsettling discovery, he contacted authorities.
The plot thickened when Cudi claimed that shortly after his breakup with Ventura, his Porsche fell victim to a bombing via a Molotov cocktail. Upon returning home, he learned from his dog-sitter that his car was ablaze. The court saw evidence of the damage, including charred interiors and a significant hole in the roof. Cudi pointed to Diddy as potentially responsible, a claim the mogul has contested in later interactions.
Additional testimony came from makeup artist Mylah Morales, who expressed her fear for her safety after seeing Ventura display signs of violence. Also, Frederic Zemmour, the general manager of a hotel often frequented by Combs, recounted the need for thorough cleaning after the rapper’s stays, noting messes such as spilled candle wax.
As the trial resumes on Tuesday next week, the jury is anticipated to hear from Capricorn Clark, the woman who alerted Cudi during the alleged home invasion.
