Russian forces dropped five glide bombs on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia early Saturday, killing at least 15 people, including three children, officials said.
All five bombs struck residential areas, flattening a multi‑storey apartment block and leaving 16 people wounded. Search and rescue teams, with around 80 personnel, are combing the rubble for survivors.
President Volodymyr Zelensky blasted the strike, saying the attack was part of a broader pattern that included 13 other Ukrainian regions hit overnight. He warned the Kremlin that Russia might continue the war unless it faced tangible losses.
The strike comes amid growing international scrutiny as President Donald Trump recently secured a diesel deal with Russia. Ukrainian officials criticised the agreement as a gift to Vladimir Putin, adding that it prolongs the conflict.
