Donald Trump is the only world leader capable of stopping Vladimir Putin from threatening Europe, according to Poland's President Karol Nawrocki.
In an interview with Radio 4's Today programme, he stated that the Russian leader was not to be trusted, but Europe needed to do everything it could to support President Trump in his efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
President Nawrocki, already known as a firm supporter of Trump, claims that with Putin's Russia posing dangers not only to Poland but also to Central and Eastern Europe, the U.S. president is the only one who can solve this problem and bring peace to Ukraine.
He referred to last September's mass incursion by Russian drones, which was unprecedented for NATO member states, and criticized the Russian aggression as a test of Poland's defenses and NATO's solidarity.
Poland has been in a hybrid war with Russia since 2021, dealing with drone threats and disinformation campaigns. Nawrocki thanked the UK for its military support, including RAF Typhoon jets, and emphasized the dangerous times that Europe is currently facing.
He underscored the importance of U.S. leadership, despite signs of Europe detaching from America, and criticized European leaders for being too focused on less critical ideological issues like climate policy and migration rather than building military resilience. Nawrocki commended the strong ties between Poland and the UK, urging continued collaboration as Poland allocates substantial resources towards defense.
