New Season, New Trim: Haaland Unveils Buzz Cut
Erling Haaland, Manchester City striker, has posted a fresh look on social media, revealing he has shaved the long blond hair that made him a global icon. The 26‑year‑old announced his “new season, new trim” with an image comparing his old hairstyle to the new buzz cut.
Haaland hopes the change will bring a fresh start as the Premier League season kicks off. He says a new appearance will bring more goals when City open their campaign against Bournemouth.
Before the cut, Haaland teased with pictures of past hairstyles and spiced up the story with a comical montage of what his hair could look like. He posted the clip, which included a shaky video of a hairdresser snipping and a quick grin after the trim.
The Norwegian received mixed reactions from the football community. Jack Grealish, former City boss Pep Guardiola, and Oasis front‑man Noel Gallagher all applauded the change, remarking that it made him look younger. Former Sweden star Zlatan Ibrahimović was less impressed, joking that Haaland’s decision was a loss of a bet, though he “would love it.”
According to Haaland, he felt nervous while the hairdresser worked, but soon settled into an amused smile at the new look. “I love my new hair, it’s sharp and clean,” he said in a video post. Haaland is confident the buzz cut will be a countless step towards his goals on the pitch.
