Cinema fans witnessed a high‑quality leak of Christopher Nolan’s new film The Odyssey on X after two million users viewed the embedded clip in less than three hours. The torrent was quickly removed by the platform, but not before it sparked a frenzy of jokes and speculation. Universal Studios issued a rapid response, promising swift takedown actions and legal measures. Despite the breach, the film has already achieved a $640 million worldwide gross, indicating the leak may not hamper its commercial success.

Director Christopher Nolan wants people to watch The Odyssey on the biggest screen possible – but two million viewers caught a leaked copy on X over the weekend.

Variety reported that a tweet containing a high‑quality version of the film accumulated 2.1 million views in just two and a half hours before the account was suspended.

One Twitter user joked, “The full Odyssey movie in a tweet, as Nolan intended.” Another remarked, “Someone leaked The Odyssey movie in HD. I thought it was fake but it’s true.”

The Hollywood Reporter noted a lower‑quality clip surfaced on X on Sunday, garnering almost 50,000 views before removal after two hours.

Universal Studios said it had “awakened to the unauthorized posting … and began takedown protocols … we take copyright infringement seriously and will pursue all appropriate remedies.”

Despite the leak, the film is already a box‑office success, having earned $215 million internationally in its second weekend and bringing total gross to $640 million worldwide.
