A violent shooting erupted early Sunday morning at a block party in Vienna, a small rural community in Georgia's Dooly County. More than 50 rounds were fired, leaving two men dead and 35 injured.
The victims, aged 14 to 51, were transported to hospitals, with some in critical condition. No arrests have been made and authorities say the motive remains unclear.
Dooly County Sheriff Craig Peavy describes the scene as chaotic, with a machine‑gun‑like barrage and crowds scrambling for safety. Investigators are combing the area and canvassing witnesses for clues.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigations has joined the inquiry and will conduct autopsies on the deceased. Communities and families are left to grieve amid a search that continues.
