Pop star Ariana Grande has filed a lawsuit against two unidentified hackers who, she alleges, gained access to her collaborators’ computers and then leaked unreleased music and studio footage to the dark web.
The case, filed in Los Angeles and reported by U.S. media outlets, claims that the hackers targeted photographers and producers to obtain material that was being sold for “significant sums of money.”
According to the documents, in 2023 alone, 45 unreleased songs belonging to Grande were hacked, stolen, and leaked, with “hundreds of similar leaks” occurring since her debut in 2011.
Her legal team says they are pursuing the case to uncover the hackers’ identities. Grande has previously expressed her intent to hold them accountable for the leaks.
In a 2024 interview on the Zach Sang Show, she recalled a song called “Fantasize” written with Max Martin, which went viral after being posted online, calling the pirates “crooks” and illegal.
The suit cites a pattern of illegal behaviour: in 2025 the defendants hacked a producer’s mobile device, accessing unreleased masters and footage; in 2024 they impersonated a photographer to steal photos from a technician. Grande claims the intrusions violated the sacred relationship with her fans and caused “substantial and irreparable harm.”
The filing arrives as Grande readies to release her eighth album, "Petal", this Friday and continues her world‑tour, with the UK dates slated for August. She refers to the concerts as possibly her last "for a long time."
Grande told Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast that she is doing a “last hurrah” for now, hoping to give it her all.
