An Australian couple’s anticipated journey to Venice turned harrowing after they were compelled to sit beside a deceased passenger for the last four hours of their 14-hour flight from Melbourne to Doha. Witnesses state that the woman collapsed mid-flight, and despite efforts by the crew to revive her, she could not be saved.Mitchell Ring, fellow passenger and traveler on the flight, recounted the situation in an interview with Australian news program “A Current Affair.” He expressed that the scene was heartbreaking as many tried to assist the woman, but unfortunately without success. Flight attendants initially attempted to transfer the body to business class but faced difficulty due to the space constraints in the aisle. The airline’s crew eventually placed the deceased woman next to the couple in a seat after asking Mr. Ring to shift over. His wife, Jennifer Colin, described the experience as utterly shocking, particularly as she struggles with flying. Overwhelmed, she decided to relocate to another row.Upon landing, the couple reported being told to remain seated while paramedics attended to the situation, which included removing blankets from the body. Despite their distress and the unusual circumstance, they noted that the airline did not provide any form of support. In response, Qatar Airways later issued a statement confirming that officials had reached out to the couple regarding their experience.
